Positive thinking is the ultimate power provider

I have been reading the book “THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING”, by Norman Vincent Peale. This is a great book on developing positive thinking in our mind. And Positive thinking leads us to tremendous success or we can achieve whatever we want with the help of it.

Following are seven practical steps for changing your mental attitudes from negative to positive, for releasing creative new thoughts, and for shifting from error patterns to truth patterns. If you try them again and again, they will work. And these principles are directly depicted from the book.

1) For the next 24 hours, deliberately speak hopefully about everything, about your job, about your health, about your future. Go out of your way to talk optimistically about everything. This will be difficult, for possibly it is your habit to talk pessimistically. From this negative habit, you must restrain yourself even it requires an act of will.

2) After speaking hopefully for 24 hours, continue the practice for one week, then you can be permitted to be realistic for a day or two. You will discover that what you meant by realistic a week ago was actually pessimistic, but what you now mean by realistic is something entirely different; that is the dawning of a positive outlook. When most people say they are being realistic they delude themselves: they ate simply being negative.

3) You must feed your mind even as you feed your body, and to make your mind healthy you must feed it nourishing, wholesome thoughts. Therefore, today start to shift your mind from negative to positive thinking. Start at the beginning of the New Testament and underscore every sentence about faith. Continue doing this until you have marked every such passage in the four books, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Particularly note Mark xi. verses 22,23,24. They will serve as samples of the verses you are to underscore and fix deeply in your conscious.

Do smart work not hard work

We all think that hard work is the solution of all our financial problems. But it is not true and we have not taught about the solution. Not in our homes or in our schools. They all tell us, teach us to work hard, get a good job and buy a big house, luxurious car etc. And so we never get out of debts and other financial problems. Our teaching and learning environment do not provide us any financial education which the rich parents do. Therefore, we can never come out of the rat race and always remain poor. And the rich are becoming richer.

The urgent need of the hour is to become financially educated. We have to learn to acquire assets, not liabilities. Assets are the things which give us passive income in terms of rent, dividend etc. Some examples of assets are real estate, securities, bonds, stocks etc. And liabilities are the things which only drain our money from our pocket. Such as a big house, expensive cars, mobiles etc. which are picking your pocket without recognizing by you. Only by acquiring more assets and fewer liabilities we can become rich. Being rich does not mean having expensive items and luxurious lifestyle if it is done by borrowing and drowning in debt. A true rich person always aims at acquiring lots of assets so that he/she can live comfortably without having to do hard work. But with financial education doing smart work.

It is very painful to watch that parents tell their child work for the money like an ass. All they teach them to do hard work. To work for the company, government, and boss. We are inspired to work hard to earn money then to spend it in liabilities and to remain poor for whole life with debts and interests to pay for the rest of the life.

It should be encouraged by the parents to learn about financial education, the school should teach it as a subject. Then only the masses will be able to get rid of the curse of poverty.

Control your anger or perish

No one in this world is free from emotions. Emotions are our expression of the self. We have to show our emotions in a way or other. If the emotions do not come out then our mind becomes full of trouble and distress. Therefore, don’t press down the emotions, rather release it to calm down the mind and the body.

Anger is also an emotion, a very strong emotion. If we aren’t able to control it then we will perish, destroyed. ‘Anger’ is a very dangerous emotion. It can destroy a man, families and even a country. A few days ago in my neighborhood, two people fought each other with weapons like the stick an iron rod. Both are injured and filed a case against each other. But then one of the man’s brother’s entered the house of the other and attacked him. The street fight went to the home. Therefore, the police had not left any choice but to put those three brothers in jail. Because of anger, they are now in jail for committing the crime like burglary, attempt to murder and extortion. In an instant, their life and carrier perished.

As ‘Anger’ is a very strong emotion and it is difficult to control. But it is not impossible. I am a very angry person. When the anger builds in my mind I become another person. My fist strengthens up and mind goes blank. It is very very tough for me to control it. It is well said than done. But I never back down and fight back with it. First of all, I try my best to not stiffened my fist and body so that my mind doesn’t go blank. Then I try to laugh inside and relax my mind. And lastly, I pray to God. I pray to God to release my tension, forgive someone who has done wrong to me and pray for their well being. In this way, I keep my sanity and the ‘Anger’ in control.
